Petrina Ng

Toronto Operative

Petrina is an emerging artist, curator and cultural worker. Originally from Toronto, Canada, she completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts specializing in Visual Studies at the University of Toronto. She is currently based in London, UK as a Master of Fine Art candidate at the Slade School of Fine Art. Her practice includes video, installation and print, and explores intimacy, discomfort and the preservation of familial history. She has shown her work in Toronto, London and Singapore, and has been involved in interactive performances. Her current curatorial research is with thirdspace projects, a new organization that mounts art exhibitions and events in non-gallery spaces. Most recently, she has been awarded a Chinese Government Scholarship to expand her research in China as an independent scholar. Petrina has acted as Project Coordinator for Mammalian Diving Reflex for Eat the Street in Toronto, Canada, Haircuts by Children at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival in Norwich, UK and the Children's Choice Awards at the ANTI Festival in Kuopio, Finland.
