The Children’s Choice Awards

The red carpet is rolled out for a frank group of children who attend all the shows of a festival and hand out chocolate covered awards.  The Children’s Choice Awards is a subversive act that refers us adults to the power relationships inherent in our conceptions of childhood, education and art. The verdict will be implacable!

It’s really interesting to see what things (the children) particularly observe that we as adults might not have noticed.

Shelagh Magadza, The West Australian (2010)

Forget the professional arts critics, it was the Children’s Choice Awards that mattered at this year’s festival.
